Mohegan Sun Casino has always genuinely welcomed diversity among it employees and guests. It was just nine years ago – April 1, 2001 – that it extended benefits to same-sex partners,

At that time Mitchell Etess, now the Sun’s CEO, told us that”only 6% of a sampling of 266 Connecticut companies offer domestic partnership benefits.”  

And last month the Sun continued its commitment to diversity by bringing in out-gay-comedy-star Kevin Meaney to launch the popular new comedy series in its intimate cabaret theater.

This month it launches what it billed as “The Best Day Of The Week,” it’s Mohegan SunDayz on the second Sunday of every month featuring celebrity appearances, hotel packages and Fleur at Ultra 88Night Club.  And best of all, Mohegan Sun has told Metroline to let its readers know this is a personal invitation to the LGBT community.

Although a computer glitch prevented us from including this cool news in the last print and online edition of Metroline, here’s what happened at the first Sundayz on April 11.  The next best night of the week will be on May 9 – don’t miss it!

Its first Sundayz starred Madison Hildebrand and Josh Flagg of Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing” who did a meet and greet fans inside Leffingwells Martini Bar at 5:00 pm. They showcased their new books and posed for photos and sign autographs. The event was free to attend. Guests inside Leffingwells Martini Bar have to be 21 or older.
