The Republicans are fielding a host of has-been idiots making all sort of commentary on current affairs.  Totally unaware — maybe, totally oblivious — possibly, total arrogance — absolutely.  

Once a president leaves office, he is supposed to leave the active political scene with dignity.  This is a well-established code of decorum, allowing the incoming President to establish his own administration and control over the office and the government he has been elected to run.  Do the Republicans (I would like to say the Republican leadership but that is a post currently unmanned) have the slightest clue that the ex-Vice-President, DICK Cheney, is doing absolutely no good for their cause by continuing to pontificate about the current administration?  Do they not realize that he will never succeed in convincing the American people, or the world for that matter, that the disgraceful conduct they perpetrated upon the world and the subsequent damage to America’s stature on the international stage, is somehow justified and not flat out unforgivable?  President Obama has made a wise and graceful decision in not having the Bush administration staff, including President Bush and former Vice-President Cheney, investigated and prosecuted.  This despite the fact that other countries around the world look upon these men as war criminals.  Cheney should shut his mouth, stop proving beyond any doubt that the Republicans have no regard for anything besides being in office, truth and rule of law be damned, and fade into the sunset as a free man instead of in prison where he should be.  This man participated in engineering the death of how many human beings from how many countries for the sake of war profiteering? How much false information is being uncovered every day?  How much disinformation was fed to the American people and the congress in justification of the war in Iraq at this man’s direction?  Why?  And just this month it was revealed that Cheney gave briefings to Congress attempting to sway support in justifying waterboarding.  He gave the briefings himself and then had the records altered to hide that little fact from the public.  We watched Americans pay how much for gas at the pump?  Why are the secret meetings Cheney held with the oil companies soon after taking office still secret?  Do you get a fuel discount card with a membership in the Republican Party? NOT!  This man clearly personifies the idea that once an individual attains a high position in the GOP they feel they are above the law and not required to answer to anyone, especially “We the people.” And citizens of the United States are still willing members of this party?!  You should be calling yourselves “Sheepacans” because that’s all you are.  “Yup Ma, I tuned into Mr. Rush’s show to find out what my opinion is for today.”  Rush Limbaugh is being touted as the voice of the GOP.  A man who prior to getting the radio spot he has now, failed miserably at everything else he endeavored to do. He had absolutely no credibility in the journalism field whatsoever. Now I don’t know how you feel about him but lets take an abbreviated look at his career track. Failure after failure in media, gets a talk show where no one is there to challenge his views, figures out he can rant on and on about the Democratic Party to a bunch of mindless simpletons who wouldn’t know better if they could actually read the facts for themselves, screams at the top of his lungs about putting away drug dealers and users for insanely long periods, becomes a drug addict who sends his illegal help out onto the streets to score his illegal pills for him, changes his attitude about hard sentences for drug offenses when facing jail time himself, gets back on the air and these twits still listen to his twisted bull, and now takes the stage as a likely leader of his party! If he is the example of just what the Republican Party is truly about, this country will never survive another GOP anything. So, we beg- Please!!!!!!!!!!!!  Stop the madness.  Get rid of these self-appointed political royalty once and for all and start over.  The party of Lincoln has a great and honorable vision.  Get somebody in there who actually will follow it instead of use the title as a diversion from the truth.  Back in 1947, the United States led the world in prosecuting 21 members of the Nazi high command.  The primary prosecutor for the Nuremberg war tribunals was Justice Robert Jackson of the United States Supreme Court.  In setting the tone for the prosecutions, Justice Jackson is quoted with saying; ”Our task is to make sure that this is not the triumph of superior might, but the triumph of superior morality. We are in a position to fashion a future in which aggressive war will be dealt with as a crime.”  If we are to accept Cheney’s point of view that torture and endless incarceration of human beings without regard to basic rights or the rule of law, either domestic or international, that the ends justifies any means, than haven’t we abandoned that standard of superior morality that we based the prosecution of the Nazis upon?  Our own Supreme Court has ruled against the Bush administration and they simply ignored the rulings.  I am afraid that history will view this man as the quintessential example of everything America is supposed to stand against.  That Americans allowed him to dishonor the sacrifice of all those men who gave their lives fighting wars based on American morality.  And this is our own fault because we let him run unchecked while he was in office, and we are letting him continue by giving him airtime now.  The world knows how much damage these two men (Bush and Cheney) have done to everything they have touched.  We know that Cheney has lied to just about everyone he has spoken to in one-way or another during his time in office.  It is beyond doubt he will continuously lie to America.  Why are we still listening?  Just how stupid are we?
