Blabby: That Stripper Might Just Be Out for Your Cash

Published Nov 7, 2009

Dear Uncle Blabby,

How can I avoid a “move in” without my boyfriend getting pissed off?  After six months, he’s decided that we should move in together and is pressuring me about it non-stop.  He keeps talking about the money we’ll hoard, the dog we’ll get, and the time we’ll save going back and forth between our places. I want to stay with him, but I’m not ready to lose my freedom just yet.

Billy

Dearest Billy,

It sounds like you are dating a lesbian. There are several reasons why people should not rush into moving in together. For one, it leaves at least one of you without a place to go if something happens. Two, it makes it much move difficult to divide any assets that you purchase together, and three there is always a custody battle over who gets to keep the dog. Don’t be pressured into giving up your place until YOU are ready. If he is unwilling to continue the relationship under those circumstances then find another BF, and be thankful that you didn’t move in with him!

Missing my BF here in our home,
Uncle Blabby

Dear Uncle Blabby,

I was out recently and ended up at a strip bar where I met Danny.  He’s totally hot and I am so into him.  When I first saw him taking it off, it turned me on to see the other guys drool, but now I’m jealous as hell. My one gay friend, who has been around for a while, thinks I’ve lost my mind.  In fact, rolls his eyes so much at me now, I think they might roll down the street. He warns me not to fall for a stripper and says that I’ll only get hurt in the end.  What are your thoughts?

Michael
Cranston, R.I.

Dear Michael,

Remember that guys that work in strip clubs do so to make money. They ‘work’ the crowd so guys feel ‘connected’ to them, and give them money. That is their job. They ‘come on’ to guys for that reason. It is not impossible that Danny and you have a real connection, but it is improbable. Find out if Danny is willing to see you outside of the club. See if he will do dating things with you such as movies, dinner etc that YOU don’t pay for. That’s the only way you can tell if he’s into you for you, or into you for your money.

Rolling my eyes,
Uncle Blabby

Dear Uncle Blabby,

Why is it that so many hot, muscular guys, who clearly spend lots of time at the gym, do so many recreational drugs?  Isn’t that unhealthy and doesn’t it have a negative effect on all those workouts?

Doug
Stamford, Conn.

Dear Doug,

I am amazed at the number of hot guys, both very muscular and not, that do drugs. The answer to your question is yes it certainly has a negative effect on those workouts. Some guys falsely believe that those ‘recreational’ drugs don’t harm you as much as they do. Others think that they can stop at any time, and somehow reverse the effects. Stay away from drug users. Many times we think we can help them change, when in fact it is the users that ‘help’ us change.

No drugs here,
Uncle Blabby
