Staying True to Yourself

Hey guys.  As I write this, it’s raining and in the 40s.  Last weekend it was beautifully sunny and in the 60s.  It must be spring.  And it could not come a moment too soon.

One of the best things about the arrival of spring is the arrival of a Connecticut treasure, the annual True Colors conference.  As with last year, we’re letting you learn about it from someone who was there, but this year, we’re offering the point of view of a volunteer.  Melissa Cordner was gracious enough to share her experiences, which we present in this issue.  We hope her story encourages some of you to get involved with such worthwhile organizations such as True Colors, who rely on the help of volunteers to really make the event something special.

Elsewhere, we’ve got Wayne Besen looking into the history-changing decision to revise history books to have a more conservative viewpoint.  History is always written by the victors, so the 10 people who are Republicans and outvoted the 5 Democrats are obviously the victors for now, but who are the real losers?  It could just be the students, who are given propeganda instead of history.

We’ve got a double-dose of music for you again this issue.  Associate Editor Josh O’Connell got to listen to Goldfrapp’s latest album before it was released, and now that the album is out he’s sharing his views, which seems quite positive.  We also have an interview with the Freemasons by Joshua Miller for you to enjoy.

Our advice columnist is busy this issue.  Uncle Blabby tackles the age-old question: “What is rimming?”  He also tackles the more serious question of a partner that cheated and whether he’s now using threesomes as a loophole.

As always, we’d like to know what you think.  Let us know by E-mailing us at keepintouch@metroline-online.com.  We want to hear it all — the good and the bad — so we can continue to make this magazine the best it can be. And remember, if you missed an issue, you can find archives going back almost 18 months by visiting our Web site, www.metroline-online.com.

Thanks as always for picking up the magazine, and I’ll see you Out & About.
