Quite the Busy Pride Month!

Hey guys.  Well, now that Pride month is winding down, our coverage ramps up.  In this issue you can see a plethora of pictures taken at the Hartford Pride event by Anthony Bennoch.  We thank Anthony for sharing the pictures with us again this year, and some of them are quite beautiful.

In other Pride news, while the New York City pride event is the big behomoth that ends the month, the City is, after all, a big place and that means there’s other alternative events also going on at the same time.  We’ve got a list of a group of events happening elsewhere that may be worth your attention.

Outside the realm of the Pride celebrations, we are sharing with you this issue an interview Josh did with Daisy, a new dance artist who is hoping to make a big impact on the music scene.  What was initially going to be a “get to know you” type piece with her turned into a really interesting story.  Sometimes, the best stories come out when you least expect it.

For those who are planning ahead to take a vacation but are looking for ideas, Don and Tony come through again with their latest travel piece.  They take their annual look at Ogonquit, Maine, a beautiful area in a state that is breathtaking.  If you’ve never been up to Maine, you should take a look at Don and Tony’s suggestions and consider a trip.  It’s well worth it.

We’ve also got our gaggle of features as usual.  Mistress Manners is here, taking on the slightly taboo topic of dating a preacher and the rules that go with such a thing. Josh’s CD review looks at a dance CD that has its ups and downs. Wayne Besen examines Obama’s choice for the Supreme Court, Sonia Sotomayor. Mette Bach takes a look at the touchy subject of bra shopping.  And Terri shares her thoughts on the book “The Other Side of Paraside.”

Speaking of features, be sure to check out our Web site, www.metroline-online.com, as Josh has been posting additional entertainment content on our Web site.  Sometimes, he’s giving you a sneak peak of some of the content that will make its way into the magazine, while other times you’re getting extra content we just can’t fit inside the magazine.  This issue cycle, you’ll be able to check out Josh’s reviews of The Black Eyed Peas and Utada, as well as Terri’s summer book recommendations.  You’re even able to order their selections just by clicking the links on their articles - quite handy!

It’s been a busy month, but a fruitful one, and I hope all of you had fun.  I know I did.  And the fun doesn’t have to stop!  Be sure to visit your local establishments, and if you do, I may just see you Out & About.
